In January-February 1999, we were in Washington, D.C., with our newborn twins and with Emi’s parents, who had come to help us.
In mid-February, we visited Grandma Joyce in Carmel, California.

In May, we visited family in Bulgaria.
In August, we visited a park in Western Pennsylvania. Then, in September, Emi’s parents had to return to Bulgaria to renew their visa’s, and her sister-in-law Mimi and nephew Moni came to help us with the twins. We all went to California to be with Grandma Joyce.
In September, we returned to our home in Washington, D.C. In October, Emi’s parents were with us again, and Greg’s father Arthur came to visit.
In December, we celebrated the twins’ first birthday.
