As in previous years, on 1 January we attended the competition of “kukeri”—locals dressed in imaginative costumes—in our village of Krupnik during our vacation there.

Emi continued to live in our London flat to support Joyce during her second-year studies at the English National Ballet School, while Greg was with Gregory and Mina in Hluboká nad Vltavou in the Czech Republic where they were attending the Townshend International School. Emi came to visit in January.

In February, Greg’s granddaughter Cami came from Oakland to visit us in London, and Greg came from the Czech Republic.

Also in February, Greg gave a Wilmette Institute web talk:

In March, during the spring break, Greg, Gregory and Mina visited London and we celebrated Mina’s 17th birthday.

In April, Greg’s granddaughter Mica came to visit London.

Also in April, Greg and Gregory visited Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where Gregory had been accepted to study in the fall.

Greg likes bicycling along the Vltava River near Hluboká. These pictures were taken in May.

In London in May, our friend Edna visited from Mexico and Gregory’s girlfriend Merle, in her first year at the University of York, joined us.

Here are some photos from the Czech Republic, London and Bulgaria in April-June.

Gregory graduated from the Townshend International School in June, and was named Student of the Year. It was also the celebration of the school’s 25th anniversary.

Here is a short three-minute video Greg put together of the Graduation ceremony:

And here are some photos from the Czech Republic, London and Bulgaria in June-July.

In July, in a trip inspired by Mina, she, Joyce, Emi and Greg spent a wonderful 10 days in Japan.

Between 29 July and 8 August Greg, Emi, Mina, Gregory, and Merle traveled by car around northern Bulgaria visiting famous sites. Joyce was at a ballet summer intensive in Prague.

After a couple of days at our vacation apartment in Vlas on the Black Sea Coast, we visited friends in their village on our way back to Krupnik, and spent the rest of August in Krupnik. Then Greg, Mina and Gregory returned to the Czech Republic, Joyce completed her Matura exams in Sofia and returned to London, and Gregory departed for his first year at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, USA.

In late August, Joyce had a photoshoot in Sofia.

In September, Emi and Greg has a nice three-night getaway to picturesque Werfenweng in the Austrian Alps south of Salzburg.

In September-October, we enjoyed fall foliage around our new house in Hluboká. Emi, Mina and Greg also visited Gregory at Brown University, and took a few days to visit nearby colleges in upstate New York and Vermont that could be of interest for Mina.

In December, Emi went to London for Joyce’s birthday, joined there by Merle. Then we were all together for the winter vacation, first in Hluboká and then in Bulgaria.
