At the beginning of 2010 we were at home in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. Below are pictures of the twins’ class at the math school in February, Joyce performing in different venues, Mina’s birthday parties in March, and again Joyce and Mina performing at various events.

In April, spring was coming to our village of Krupnik, and we were enjoying walks with our friends on the mountain overlooking the village and along the river that runs nearby.

In May, Joyce danced outdoors in a park near Blagoevgrad, where Gregory is seen with two of his best friends; our kids in their junior youth group prepared handcrafts; Mina displayed her flower arrangement; Mina’s class celebrated the end of their first four years in school with the same teacher; and the kids performed in a program of dance and piano.

Also in May, we went to visit a school run by Bahá’ís in the Czech Republic, and saw some sights while we were there.

In June, the three kids performed at a piano recital; Joyce performed in a regional dance competition; and we spent a couple of days at a nearby spa overlooking the Pirin Mountains with Greg’s daughter Carrie and grandchildren Cami and Mica (great view of the mountains from our window) and went horseback riding there.

Also in June, our friend Daniela Kaneva did a TV special about our family that was aired on Bulgarian National Television channel 1 at 8:45 a.m. on 1 July.

In July we spent some relaxing days with Greg’s brother Arthur at our vacation apartment on the Black Sea Coast.

Later in July we arrived in California, visiting the beautiful Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco.

While renting a house in August in Pebble Beach, where Greg grew up, Greg’s son Ian and grandson Gabe joined.

Also in August, we spent several days in the high country of Yosemite National Park with Emi’s cousin Mitko, at Tuolumne Meadows and May Lake. The evening alpine glow at May Lake was particularly beautiful.

Back in Bulgaria, the kids started their new school year, and organized a halloween party with their classmates at our house in the village.

In November, responding to Joyce’s desire to pursue her passion for ballet, we moved on short notice to Sofia and enrolled Joyce in a small private ballet school, the Russian Lyceum, while all three kids transferred to the 107th public school a short distance away. So in early December the twins had four birthday parties, the first in our new apartment in the Lozenetz neighborhood of Sofia, the second for their new classmates, the third back in Blagoevgrad for their old classmates, and the forth in Blagoevgrad for relatives and friends.

Following those photos you see the view over Sofia from our new apartment, a class photo of Joyce’s new class, and photos taken at a family gathering at the home of Emi’s brother Georgi when their son Moni and his new wife Nevena were visiting from Germany.
