In January and February, we were mostly at home in Hluboká nad Vltavou and had visits from Gregory and Joyce from the U.S. and London respectively. Greg made a quick trip in January to California to take care of some business, and enjoyed the scenery while there. And in February, a group of Townshend students and staff visited Vienna to perform, including the school choir in which Mina was singing.

Greg made two videos of the performances in Vienna:

In March we travelled to Bulgaria to celebrate Mina’s birthday with family and then to London to celebrate again with Joyce.

In April, Greg gave a Wilmette Institute web talk on Economic Life:

In April, May and June spring came to Hluboká nad Vltavou and we were mostly at home there. In June Gregory joined us after the end of his first year at Brown University in the U.S.

At the end of June we travelled to Bulgaria and celebrated Greg’s birthday there, and then went to London to see Joyce dance in her end-year showcase.

In July we were in California for a three week holiday. Gregory’s girl friend Merle came too, Ian came to visit with his two boys, and we had a lot of good time with Carrie and her twins.

At end-July and early August, Emi, Greg, Mina, Merle and Merle’s mother attended the Czech-Slovak Bahá’í Summer School in the Eastern part of the Czech Republic. In August we were back in Bulgaria. Greg was admitted to hospital in Sofia for some tests, but fortunately nothing serious was found. And in September, the Bahá’í Community of Hluboká hosted a welcome gathering for Townshend students and new staff, interesting things popped up on our garden, and Emi and Greg attended a concert in Prague with a friend.

In October, Mina went to London to attend a concert with a friend and former classmate from Sofia. She stayed with Joyce and her roommate Svetlana, and took pictures with her new camera.

Later in October, Joyce came with her roommate Svetlana during their fall break from the English National Ballet School. We had a nice walk on the grounds of the Hluboká Castle among the fall foliage.

We then drove to Werfenweng in the Austrian Alps for a brief visit.

In November, Emi and Greg travelled to New England to visit Gregory over the Thanksgiving holiday. In December, Greg, Emi and Mina did some tourism in Prague, and Joyce had a professional photoshoot in London. We were all together with Baba in Krupnik for the end-year holiday.
