For the first months of 2000 we were in Washington, D.C., awaiting the arrival of our third child.

In February, the twins were taking their first steps.

In early March, we had a special Bulgarian ceremony in our D.C. home marking the twins’ ability to walk.

Then, at 6:16 a.m. on the morning of 21 March, Mina was born, the best gift for Mom and Dad on the Bahá’í New Year!

In April, we enjoyed the spring in Washington.

In May and June we were still in Washington.

In July we were joined in California by Greg’s older brothers Keith, Arthur and Roger for the wedding of our father Arthur (Sr.) to Betsy. This turned out to be our last time all together. Greg’s older son Ian came as well.

During the rest of July and part of August we were back in Washington, D.C., preparing for our move to Madagascar.

In August, Emi went to Bulgaria with the rest of the family while Greg packed up the house in D.C.

Finally Emi, her parents, and the kids joined Greg in our new home in Antananarivo (“Tana”), Madagascar, in September, and we were all together again.

At the Bahá’í Center in Tana, at the zoo, and the view from the street in front of our house, in November:

We celebrated the twins’ second birthday party in early December in our garden with our staff and their families, and with presents for all the children.
