For the first months of 2005 we were staying with Greg’s mother Joyce in Carmel, California, and celebrated Mina’s birthday there.
At home at Grandma Joyce’s in April and May. The video includes Joyce appearing in a performance in Carmel of Giselle featuring young local dancers.
In May we took a trip to scenic Yosemite National Park in California.
Greg’s Dad, Arthur Dahl, passed away in Maryland in June. He was 91. Also in June, Emi and Greg attended Greg’s 40th high school reunion at Verde Valley School in Sedona, Arizona, and the nearby Indian ruins known as Montezuma’s Castle. The video is of the kids at Grandma Joyce’s house in Carmel in May and June.
In July we were back in Bulgaria, where our house was under construction in the village of Krupnik, near Blagoevgrad. The video shows us at home in Blagoevgrad, Emi’s father tending his bees in Krupnik, the Baha’i Summer School in Plovdiv, and some vacation in Kiten on the Black Sea Coast.
On 15 September, Mina started in kindergarten and the twins had their first day in first grade in their new school in Blagoevgrad.
In November, Mina’s kindergarten put on a show, and we treated the construction workers of our house in Krupnik to a feast in our unfinished living room. In December we celebrated Gregory and Joyce’s birthday in our apartment in Blagoevgrad. In the video, Joyce is dancing at home and the girls are taking dancing lessons. In December their dance class went on an excursion to Bankso.
