In early 2007 we were living in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. Here is Mina in February with long hair, and one of her drawings.

In March we went on Bahá’í pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Here we are enjoying the Shrine of the Báb and terrace gardens on Mt. Carmel in Haifa (Israel), then the Shrine of Bahá’u’lláh and surrounding gardens in Bahjí near the Crusader’s fortress-city of Akká, then in a house in Akká where Bahá’u’lláh lived, then Joyce in a narrow Crusader’s tunnel under the Akká, then back on Mt. Carmel with our pilgrimage group near Bahá’í administrative buildings, in the gardens, and with friends, and finally with friends from our pilgrimage group.

Back in Blagoevgrad, here are Joyce and Mina performing at the opera house in March, the grand opening of the new building for the auto service company of Emi’s brother Georgi. Then April, and it’s spring in Blagoevgrad. Here is the view from the bridge we cross going to the kids’ school, various scenes in town, and our apartment building (we’re the top two floors in the middle). Finally piano and end-of-school performances in May.

Greg’s book was published in the U.S. in June.

He appeared on the nationwide morning news program First Business on 2 July to promote the book.

On June 3rd, Greg’s grandson Gabe has his first birthday party, in Virginia, with proud parents Ian and Stephanie and all four grandparents. We also visited Emi’s cousin Mitko in Northern Virginia, the grave of Greg’s father Arthur in Maryland, and Times Square in New York.

In July we were in California. Here are the kids in Monterey, then at an amusement park in nearby Gilroy, and enjoying a story with Mommy. Then we visited the high country of Yosemite National Park. Back in the Monterey-Carmel area, at the Point Lobos State Reserve, with Greg’s granddaughters Cami and Mica at the Dennis-the-Menace park, and relaxing at our rented house.

We were back in Bulgaria, in our village of Krupnik, in August, and at the Bahá’í Summer School in Balchik on the Black Sea coast in late August. In mid-September, Mina had her first day of school. We were also spending time in the village.

In late November and early December the twins celebrated their birthday with their whole school class in Krupnik, and then with family in Krupnik. Emi’s father visited us in Blagoevgrad, and the young musicians performed in town. In December we hosted intensive Bahá’í training institute at our house in Krupnik, and enjoyed the winter weather there.
