In 2003 we were still in Madagascar until July/August. The kids had a costume party at their school, and we celebrated Mina’s birthday in our garden.

Here are videos of us at home and a trip to an amusement park in Tana during the first days of January, family time at home in January-February, and a cardival at the kids’ preschool in March:

In late April Emi and Greg visited the idyllic private island of Tsarabanjina off the northwest coast of Madagascar with Greg’s brother Arthur. Then in early May, Greg and Emi’s family had a wonderful vacation at Anjajava on the west coast of Madagascar.

In May-July we enjoyed some of the last months of our stay in Madagascar, visiting with the many friends we had made.

Here we have videos of Mina performing on a table in our living room, a diplomatic lunch in our yard with the German Ambassador and his wife and with Lila Andriambalo and her family, and a dinner party in our home with Bahá’í friends to celebrate our wedding anniversary, in May:

At the end of Greg’s assignment as IMF resident representative in Madagascar we settled in Emi’s home town of Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. The family left Madagascar end-July, and Emi and Greg left end-August. Our hearts were overflowing with sadness for having to say goodbye to the many wonderful friends we left in Madagascar. Nevertheless we were happy and grateful for the abundant love we were receiving all our three years there.

In October we visited Grandma Joyce in California and enjoyed a visit of Greg’s granduaghters, Cami and Mica. Then we returned to Blagoevgrad in Bulgaria.

In November we all went to Israel to visit the Bahá’í Holy Places and World Center in Haifa and its environs. It was a wonderful, spiritually refreshing trip. Then in late November we went to California to stay with Greg’s 95-year-old mother Joyce.
