In January, after a winter storm, we had nice views from our village house in Krupnik, and fun sledding in a nearby street with our friend Tsvetomir who was visiting from the States. In March, Mina celebrated her birthday, Joyce performed with her ballet class, and we enjoyed an early spring.

Greg was a delegate to the International Bahá’í Convention in May, in Haifa, Israel. a very moving experience for him.

Back in Bulgaria, Greg was reelected in May to the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Bulgaria. In Krupnik in June, the storks were back and the flowers in bloom in our garden. Joyce performed in the Opera House in Blagoevgrad. And later in June we took a trip with Uncle Ivan and his family to their garden in the mountains above Krupnik, with views toward Greece and the Pirin Mountains.

In California in July, we visited the high country of Yosemite — Tuolumne Meadows, May Lake, and climbing Mt. Hoffman. On a whale watching trip in Monterey Bay, a humpback whale came very close to have a look at us.

We were back in Bulgaria in August, and had a visit from Greg’s grandson Gabe and his parents Ian and Stephanie. We also attended a Bahá’í gathering in Macedonia, and in October we visited our dear friends Nadia and Bernhard Koppold in Greece.

In late November, we enjoyed a nice walk near our house in Krupnik with friends from Sofia. In early December, the twins celebrated their birthday with their classmates and teacher, and Mommy got a good morning hug from the twins. The kids were also in a ballet and piano performance in December, the girls attended the Mayor’s Masked Ball wearing masks they had made to match their Chinese dresses, and we went skiing near Blagoevgrad (absent Gregory, who was sick).
